Enhance Plan
Enhance is an AI-assisted way to turn a rough plan into a worked-out one — and then into tasks. You bring a title and a few notes; the assistant fleshes out the plan, asks you a handful of questions to fill the gaps, and offers to break the result into tasks for you.
It’s built for the moment when you know what you want but not yet how to start — exactly the moment planning tends to stall.
Starting Enhance
You can start Enhance two ways.
While writing a new plan. Give the plan a title, and the Enhance button becomes available right there in the editor. Pressing it saves the plan and keeps you in the editor — you don’t have to save, close, and reopen first. (The button stays greyed out until you’ve typed a title — the assistant leans on the title as much as the notes.)
On a plan you already have. Open a plan that doesn’t have any tasks yet. While the plan is still empty, you’ll see an Enhance button near the plan’s note.
Press Enhance. The assistant reads the plan’s title and body and rewrites the note into a fuller version — adding context, structure, and an outline based on what you’ve written so far.
Answering the questions
After the first pass, the assistant usually asks a few clarifying questions to pin down the details it couldn’t guess. Each question offers a set of choices, and there’s always an Other… field where you can type your own answer instead.
Pick or type your answers and press Send. The assistant takes another pass at the note using what you told it. This repeats for up to four rounds — each round sharpens the plan a little more — until it has enough to work with.
Making tasks
You don’t have to answer every question first. Make tasks is available at any point after you press Enhance — answer as many rounds as you find useful, then make tasks whenever you’re satisfied. When the assistant feels the plan is detailed enough it reaches Ready to make tasks as a nudge, but the choice is always yours.
Press Make tasks and the assistant breaks the plan into individual tasks, filed under the plan automatically. From there they’re ordinary tasks — you can edit, reorder, schedule, and move them like any others.
While a plan is being enhanced
While you’re enhancing a plan, it’s locked from editing for everyone else — collaborators see a “being enhanced” marker and a banner explaining the note can’t be edited right now. This keeps other people’s edits from colliding with the assistant’s changes. Once you’re done, the plan is open to everyone again.
If you walk away mid-enhancement — press Cancel, or just close the tab — the plan unlocks on its own. The session is kept, so you (or anyone else on the quest) can pick it up right where it was left off, at no extra charge — the points were already paid up front.
Assist points
Enhancing a plan uses assist points — one enhancement costs a few points (5 at the default Brainy assist level; the cheaper Normal level costs less, 3 points — set your level in Your account). The full cost of the session is taken up front when you start, so an enhancement never runs out of points part-way through. If you don’t have enough points to begin, the assistant will let you know and offer to Subscribe or Buy credit. See Your account for more on points.
Tips
- Write a clear title first. The assistant uses the plan’s title as much as its body, so a specific title (“Plan a 3-day Lisbon trip”) gives you a better first pass than a vague one (“Trip”).
- Add whatever you already know to the body before enhancing — constraints, dates, preferences. The more you start with, the fewer rounds it takes.
- You’re always in control. The questions are optional prompts, not a gauntlet; answer what’s useful, use Other… whenever the choices don’t fit, and press Make tasks the moment the plan looks good — you don’t have to run every round.
